Tap your Clipper card or contactless bank card every time you board.

Note: Clipper is accepted on all local and SolanoExpress Out of County routes, but the reduced fare for SolanoExpress trips within Solano County is currently not available on Clipper.

Paying with Clipper

SolTrans accepts the following on a Clipper card:

  • Cash value: For single rides. Youth customers 18 and younger ride for free on SolTrans
  • SolTrans Local 31-day pass: Unlimited rides for 31 days on local routes. Available for adult, , seniors, Clipper Access and Clipper START riders. Learn more about managing 31-day passes.
  • SolTrans Out of County Express 31-day pass: Unlimited rides for 31 days on local routes and the out of county Solano Express routes. Available for Adult, Clipper START, Senior and Clipper Access riders.

Ride More, Save More with Maximums

  • After you spend the daily maximum on local rides ($4.50, $3.60 for Clipper START, $3.50 for Youth, and $2.25 for Clipper Access and Seniors), all local rides for the rest of the day are free.
  • After you spend the daily maximum on Solano County Express rides ($5.50 for Adults, $4.40 for Clipper START, $4.00 for Youth, and $2.75 for Clipper Access and Seniors), all Solano County Express rides for the rest of the day are free.
  • After you spend the daily maximum on out-of-county Express rides ($10.00 for Adults, $8.00 for Clipper START and Youth, $5.00 for Clipper Access and Seniors) all out of county Express rides for the rest of the day are free.
  • After you spend the monthly maximum on local rides ($60.00 for Adults, $30.00 for Clipper START, Clipper Access and Seniors, $46.00 for Youth), all local rides for the rest of the month are free.
  • After you spend the monthly maximum on Solano County Express rides ($70 for Adults, $35.00 for Seniors and Youth), all Solano County Express rides for the rest of the month are free.
  • After you spend the monthly maximum on maximum on out-of-county Express ride ($114.00 for Adults, $57.00 for Seniors and Youth), all out of County Express rides for the rest of the month are free.

Transferring with Clipper

Clipper knows when to give you free and discounted rides when you transfer. Any transfer to SolTrans from the transit agencies listed below (within two hours of boarding first agency) will result in a free fare. You still need to tap your card when boarding SolTrans in order to receive the transfer discount.
