Ways to Pay

Note: Clipper is not accepted on routes 250 and 260 and the Alamo Creek Shuttle.

Paying with Clipper

County Connection accepts the following on a Clipper card:

  • Cash value: For single rides. Adult Clipper card customers save $0.50 cents on all routes. Youth Clipper, Clipper START save $1.50 on all routes. Senior and disabled riders get a $.0.25 cent discount on all routes. You need a cash value balance of at least $1.75 on an adult or Youth Clipper card to board. You need $0.75 cents on a Senior or RTC Clipper card.
  • Automatic Day Pass: Kicks in after you spend the daily maximum ($3.75 for adults and youth and $1.75 for seniors and disabled Clipper card holders) on rides on County Connection, Tri Delta Transit, WestCAT (except Lynx) and Wheels, all rides on those services are free for the rest of the day.
  • East Bay regional express 31-day pass: Unlimited rides for 31 days on County Connection, Tri Delta Transit, WestCAT (except Lynx) and Wheels local routes. County Connection riders can use cash value to pay an upgrade fee for adults and youth on express routes.

Transferring with Clipper

Clipper knows when to give you free and discounted rides when you transfer.

County Connection County Connection: within 2 hours of first boarding County Connection.

All transfers between agencies will receive a discount of up to $2.85 (if made within two hours of boarding the first agency). If you have a Youth, Senior, Clipper Access or Clipper START card, you’ll receive the proportional discount when transferring to County Connection.
