Add the value that is best for you.
You can reload your Clipper card with cash value, passes or both. Cash value works on all transit services, whether you ride transit daily or once in a while. Many transit services offer money-saving passes good for a month or 31 days. Some even offer daily, weekly or monthly maximums, where you take so many trips in that period and then the rest of your trips are free. See if your agency offers maximums.

Always have value on your card.
Set up Auto-Reload and Clipper will automatically reload value on your card. You tell us in advance what you want, and Clipper will reload your card when the cash value or BART high-value discount balance is below $10, or when your pass expires. You can also choose when you want to reload your card.
You can use a credit card, debit card (including transit benefit card) or bank account. And be sure to add a backup payment method in case we cannot charge your primary method.
Make the most of your transit benefits.
You can use pre-tax transit benefits with Clipper.
- Online commuter accounts: Clipper works with WageWorks, Commuter Check and most other online transit benefit programs.
- Debit cards: Use online, at most self-serve machines or at staffed locations that sell value. You cannot add a transit benefit debit card to your mobile wallet, but you can use one to add value in the Clipper app.
- Vouchers: Use at many Clipper retailers and all Clipper Customer Service Centers and transit agency ticket offices.
