Ways to Pay

Tap your Clipper card or contactless bank card every time you board.

Dumbarton Express accepts the following on a Clipper card:

Cash value: For single rides. Clipper customers get a discount of 25 cents for adults and 13 cents for youth, senior and disabled riders on all local routes.

After you spend the daily maximum on rides on AC Transit and Dumbarton Express local rides ($5 for adults and $2.50 for youth, senior and disabled riders), all local rides for the rest of the day are free on both services.
AC Transit transbay 31-day pass: Unlimited transbay and local rides for adults for 31 days. Learn more about managing 31-day passes.
AC Transit Local 31-day pass: Unlimited local rides for adults and youth for 31 days. Learn more about managing 31-day passes.
AC Transit Monthly pass: Unlimited local rides for seniors and disabled riders for one calendar month. Available 10 days before start of month through 15th of month. Valid first three days of following month.

Upgrades: Monthly and 31-day pass customers can use cash value on Clipper to upgrade to the transbay fare.

Clipper knows when to give you free and discounted rides when you transfer.

If you have a Youth, Senior, Clipper Access or Clipper START card, you will receive the proportional discount when transferring.
