Ways to Pay

Tap your Clipper card or contactless bank card card every time you board.

SamTrans accepts the following on a Clipper card:

Cash value: For single rides. Adult Clipper customers get discounts of 20 cents on all routes. Youth, senior and disabled riders get a discount of 10 cents on all routes.
SamTrans Monthly Pass: Unlimited rides for adults on any route. Available for sale from the 21st of the prior month through the 15th of the month.
SamTrans Eligible Discount Local Monthly Pass: Unlimited rides for senior and Clipper Access customers on any route. Available for sale from the 21st of the prior month through the 15th of the month.
SamTrans Youth Monthly Pass:Unlimited rides for youth riders on any route. Available for sale from the 21st of the prior month through the 15th of the month.
SamTrans Clipper START Monthly Pass: Unlimited rides for Clipper START customers on any route. Available for sale from the 21st of the prior month through the 15th of the month.
SamTrans Summer Youth Pass: Unlimited rides for Youth customers on any route. Available for sale May 21st through July 16th.
Caltrain Monthly Pass (2 or more zones): Unlimited rides for adults, Youth, Senior, Clipper START and Clipper Access on any route. Available for sale from the 21st of the prior month through the 15th of the month.

All inter- and intra-agency transfers will receive a discount up to $2.85 (within 2 hours of boarding the first agency).
