Ways to Pay

Tap your Clipper card or contactless bank card when you enter and tap off when you exit. Learn why tapping off is important.

Note: Clipper is not accepted on service to Oracle Park or Chase Center.

Paying with Clipper

San Francisco Bay Ferry accepts only cash value on a Clipper card. You need a cash value balance of at least $4.90on your card to board the ferry. Youth, senior, Clipper START and Clipper Access riders need $2.40.

Transferring with Clipper

All inter- and intra-agency transfers will receive a discount up to $2.85 (within 2 hours of boarding the first agency).

If you have a Youth, Senior, Clipper Access or Clipper START card, you will receive the proportional discount when transferring to San Francisco Bay Ferry, including Richmond.
